About Woolgatherers Workshop
Based in Chagford, Devon The Woolgatherers Workshop is an investigative project rooted in a deep connection to process and materials.; honouring an ancestral practice. A Commitment to learning about wool production, spinning, weaving and knitting. With a holistic approach to design, they work with local farmers and spinners to utilise the resources Dartmoor gives them.
Why We Love Them
We were really excited when we found out that Zoë, the knitwear designer behind Woolgatherers Workshop, had produced a batch of beautiful Shetland wool for hand knitters. Through her connection to local shepherds and the farming community she is able to pay a fair price for the fleeces, honouring the heritage of the wool industry of Dartmoor and also providing a lifeline to the local heritage rare breeds; from farms that work in conjunction with nature with commitments to farming in ethical and sustainable ways. We think that this approach to yarn production, along with Woolgatherers Workshop’s aim to create fully circular and beneficial knitwear with the lowest environmental impact possible is absolutely brilliant and we’re delighted to be able to support it.
