A fantastic vegan yarn for summer knits. Linen is an ancient, sustainable natural fibre spun from the flax plant. Flax itself if naturally resistant to pests and therefore practically no pesticides nor herbicides are necessary to grow these eco-friendly stem fibre plants. Flax plants produce large amounts of useable fibre per acre and do not require irrigation.
To create Studio Linen, industrial waste linen fibres are selected, undone and re-spun with premium natural linen fibres to create a beautiful and unique recycled yarn. The 85% recycled rayon-linen is sorted from selected wastage and regenerated using the eco-friendly hydrolysis method. Blended with 15% premium natural linen, these fibres are twisted and dyed by a specialist Italian spinner in Biella to produce a yarn with a dry hand feel, cool drape and subtle sheen. Studio Linen is an ancient fibre recycled for a modern maker, and garments will get better with wear and age.

Pattern Suggestion: Circe Pullover by Regina Wimmer (from Making Stories Issue 11)
Inspired by the Greek goddess of the same name, the Circe Sweater represents her dual nature of calm and dynamic. It combines soothing, gently flowing stockinette with geometric lace at the balloon sleeves and body.
Circe is knit from the top down, with shoulder shaping to fit your own shoulder and bust measurements. Optional vertical and horizontal bust darts allow you to create a sweater that fits your body shape perfectly. The lace pattern is repeated on the sleeves and lower body, creating a beautiful contrast to the smooth stockinette.
Shown here in colour Shallow.
This would be a perfect summer knit in Studio Linen. You can find the pattern (and lots of other beautiful Seashore inspired designs) in Making Stories Issue 11.
